💡 Takeaway #No 2 💡 as a follow up on the WhatAVenture - Corporate Venture Builder study "The state of Corporate Venture Building".

How do companies set up venture building in their organizations?

👉54% of study participants have chosen to establish a dedicated venture building unit or team, while 43% have executed one or more stand-alone venture building projects.

So, more than 50% of the study participants established dedicated teams for doing innovation and building new business models. Also the REHAU Group decided to set up REHAU New Ventures as an independent subgroup.

Why? Well, most importantly it is about full focus, flexibility, speed and operational autonomy: "Aiming to surpass the lengthy approval processes and gain the speed required for the validation and scaling of ventures".

It is not about thinking negatively about well established corporate processes and enterprise systems, it is just about getting the freedom to do it different according to the needs of a venture unit. 💪

💡 Takeaway #No 1 💡

👉 You need top-level entrepreneurial profiles to validate new business opportunities and bring them to scale!" Yes, it is possible to turn a semi- good idea into a something if you have the right people on board but it is nearly unpossible to scale an excellent idea if you are lacking the right mindset of the team.

The study says...."In most cases, core business employees will lack the entrepreneurial skills required for the job. Collaborating with corporate venture building service providers or hiring venture architects for your venture building unit can help you to cover these gaps".

Well, what we also learned during the last years & months. It is not only about a perfect theoretical approach. It is also about having skin in the game and having entrepreneurs in our ventures which do have a strong connection to the field we are innovating in.

That´s also why we got our Co-Founder Bradley Doering on board for our venture homerenu. Brad already founded his own company in the renovation sector and is therefore also very experienced in the area which we tackle at homerenu. Same with Maximilian Gassner, our Business Owner & Co-Founder of our venture euerzuhause. As we are building a plattform business here, it is essential to understand how such businesses must be set up.

🌟The state of corporate venture building 2024!🌟

There are many ways for companies to foster innovation. One method is through #venture #building and that´s actually what we do at REHAU New Ventures. Venture building has become a prominent innovation practice in the past years. Despite economic downturns (or particularly because of them), large and medium-sized corporates recognize their leverage in exploring opportunities beyond their core business.

We are happy having been part of the recent study of WhatAVenture - Corporate Venture Builder. WhatAVenture has partnered with over 250 clients, tackling diverse innovation challenges and navigating the unique
hurdles of venture building. They gathered insights based on interviews and a survey with over 30 corporate venture building managers and venture architects across mid-sized to large corporates.

💡The outsome?💡 A spotlight on fundamental elements critical to corporate venture building goals guiding corporate venture initiatives, the mechanics of an efficient setup and governance, the strategic allocation of resources, a pragmatic analysis of success cases, and a candid look at the challenges.

Imposter syndrome is when people feel #inadequate despite their professional #success. Those affected have the feeling that they do not deserve their success and are not as talented as others. Since the term is a heavyweight in our #opinion, we asked around even more and found out how many platforms deal with the topic of reducing self-doubt. We came across and found valuable tips that we would like to share with you:
 
🎯 Remind yourself of your achievements.
🤝 Accept challenges despite the fears that arise.
🗣 Talk to colleagues about how you see yourself and get other opinions.
🙏 Simply say "thank you" when you receive compliments. Don't play them down, don't talk them down, don't blame them on external circumstances, otherwise it's more like "fishing for compliments". Simply say: "Thank you."
